Authentic Belgian styles Double/Dark 

  • St.Bernardus Prior 8 is a traditional abbey ale brewed in the classic "Dubbel" style of Belgium's Best Abbey Ales. It has a ruby to purple color, smooth, creamy richness of texture that is almost oily, and a malt-fruit complexity reminiscent of coconut.

  • St Bernardus 8 - 24 bottles including the crate Ruby, purple coloured abbey ale with a thick beige head. Delicate and sticky lacing left on the glass.Georgeous and rich aromas upfront of candied fruits, figs and dates, with hints of alcohol.

  • Brasserie St Feuillien Brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoni-ously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty.

  • St Idesbald Donker (Double) 33 cl Deep amber color, toasty toffee/caramel nose, with layers of soft malt and hops. A big beer without being heavy. Extremely well balanced. Brewed under license of the Duinen Monestary by the family owned Huyghe-Melle Brewery.

The flavours are smoky and rich, burnt redwood, malt, molasses and dates. Troubadour Obscura is best served at a temperature of 8-10°C.

  • Val-Dieu Brune is colored. Its aroma is more pronounced, with a coffee / mocha character. The mocha taste will disappear progressively to make room for a taste of roasted malt that is neither too neutral nor too strong. It is very slightly spicy, reminding that it is before all a beer for degustation. Chambered or tempered, it suits all circumstances.

  • Westmalle Trappist Dubbel A red-brown body with a large, beige head that recedes to a lovely film-like layer of bubbles that sticks around. Aroma of figs, caramel, raisins, and candi sugar. Candi sugar and dark fruits turn to an interesting, perfumey and roasted malt flavour. Finishes dry with a note of cocoa and rum that stays with you.
