F.X. de Beukelaer Elixir d’Anvers is the craft-herbal liqueur from Antwerp since 1863.
When the name “Elixir d’Anvers” is mentioned in Belgium most people think of the good old days, when they were allowed during a visit to their grandparents to sip a ‘wee dram’ of Elixir d’Anvers or were given a few drops on a lump of sugar.
To others the name of Elixir d’Anvers evokes the perfect remedy against all sorts of ailments such as stomachache or abdominal pain and of course as the remedy par excellence against colics in horses.
This wholesome liqueur has been in existence since 1863 . It is prepared from 32 plants and herbs from the four corners of the world which impart it its unique taste.
Distillery F.X. de Beukelaer also produces the Elixir De Spa, Advocaat F.X. de Beukelaer and Koffie Elixir d’Anvers.
Belgiuminabox is proud – as an Antwerp business – to sell those exquisite products, along with nice 1880-ies looking Elixir d’Anvers posters on it’s shop.

The Great Beer PASSCHENDAELE
This beer is brewed in remembrance of the 3rd battle of Ypres, the so-called “Battle of Passendaele“, fought in July 1917.
For the soldiers who fought at Passchendaele, it was known as the “Battle of Mud”. Few battles encapsulate World War I better than the Battle of Passchendaele : heavy artillery bombardments, bad weather turning the shell craters into deadly pools of mud and in the end no ground gained, but many lives lost.
Savour this special Blonde ale with its exquisite, yet man-ly taste.
Enjoy this great beer remembering The Great War.
Brewed by : Kasteel-Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck of Ingelmunster
Note : When opening a bottle of Passchendaele 14-18, please hold a minute of silence to commemorate those who fell on the battlefield.
Next year, 2014, Belgium, the UK, Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries will remember the 100-year-aniverssary of The Great War and the battles in Flanders Fields.
The beer is available @ Belgiuminabox, in the Belgian Ale Shop :

The Chimay Dorée is also known as “Spéciale de Poteaupré” and is only served under this name on draught at Auberge de Poteaupré in Bourlers (Baileux).
The Chimay Dorée is -by exception- currently available @ Belgiuminabox, till supply lasts.
A votre santé,
The newest Black Damnation from De Struise Brouwers is now in store !
A Massive Stout from Flanders.
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urbains mind. His idea is to realise a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of several years, that are as black as hell, filty rich in the nose and with massive taste.
This is a Black Berry fermented Albert and aged on port barrels.
Made in Oostvleteren.
Ratebeer : 99/100
