This beer is brewed in remembrance of the 3rd battle of Ypres, the so-called “Battle of Passendaele“, fought in July 1917.
For the soldiers who fought at Passchendaele, it was known as the “Battle of Mud”. Few battles encapsulate World War I better than the Battle of Passchendaele : heavy artillery bombardments, bad weather turning the shell craters into deadly pools of mud and in the end no ground gained, but many lives lost.
Savour this special Blonde ale with its exquisite, yet man-ly taste.
Enjoy this great beer remembering The Great War.
Brewed by : Kasteel-Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck of Ingelmunster
Note : When opening a bottle of Passchendaele 14-18, please hold a minute of silence to commemorate those who fell on the battlefield.
Next year, 2014, Belgium, the UK, Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries will remember the 100-year-aniverssary of The Great War and the battles in Flanders Fields.
